Organization
The Public Transportation Department (DTP) evolved from the Dienst Openbare Personen Vervoer (D.O.P.V), established in 1996, into DTP in the year 2012 with the commitment to facilitate and optimize public transportation for every visitor and citizen in Aruba.
Goal
The main goal of the Public Transportation Department is to develop and implement management in the field of public transportation on our roads. At the same time, DTP oversees the developments taking place in the current sector.
Task
Tasks
The primary tasks of the Public Transportation Department consist of:
- Advising and managing public transportation matters;
- Monitoring and inspecting based on public transportation laws, ensuring that clients comply with the conditions set forth in public transportation legislation;
- Administration, providing advice to the relevant Minister, issuing, correcting, transferring, renewing, and revoking public transportation permits;
- Responsible for developing a public transportation logistics plan.
